Meet our 2022 Fellows
Bruna Contro - ACT
Bruna is a Learning Technologist in the Technology-Enhanced Learning and Teaching (TELT) team at the ANU Medical School (ANUMS). She took on this role after studying the impacts that different approaches to teaching and learning have on students’ motivation, participation and self-efficacy. With a background in Science and Education, she is passionate about understanding learning processes and students’ experiences. Bruna is also an educational and health equity advocate. Currently, she is the Results ACT Group Coordinator.
Claire O'Brien - VIC
Claire is a recent international public health graduate with a keen sense of curiosity about the world and a particular interest in Global Health. Claire currently works as a Drug and Alcohol Policy officer within the public sector and is an active volunteer for Results and other similar organisations.
She has been a member of Results and the Victorian Group Coordinator since the end of 2021, and she is excited to be a 2022 Fellow as she is passionate about contributing to positive change amongst communities, addressing health disparities and tackling wicked problems like poverty.

Deepthi Mathew - NSW
As a self-described bleeding heart, Deepthi is very passionate about all things social justice. She believes all people are entitled to fulfilling and dignified lives unrestricted by their circumstances of birth and aspires to help make that a reality. She has volunteered for organisations and events with focuses spanning from climate action to mental health advocacy to refugee wellbeing. She completed a BA in Politics and International Relations and a BSc in Biotechnology from UNSW.
Fatima Merchant - WA
Fatima is studying a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Politics, International Relations and Asian Studies as well as a minor in Global Health as a Winthrop Scholar at the University of Western Australia.
She is passionate about advocacy that values, platforms and amplifies the contributions of those with lived experiences as key stakeholders. In recognition of her leadership and impact in the spheres of Youth, Education and Mental Health advocacy, Fatima won the Youth Category of the Mercie Whellan Women+Wellbeing Award, the Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Participate Award, and was a Finalist for WA Young Person of the Year.
She currently works as an Electorate Officer and regularly volunteers with organisations such as Youth Leadership Academy Australia, UN Youth Western Australia and Mental Health charity Zero2Hero.

Lauren Sharp - NSW
Lauren is a Law and International Studies student from Sydney, Australia. She has always been curious about different languages, nations and cultures and learning about different communities around the world has exposed her to many of the injustices that people face today. She is particularly passionate about building a world in which people are given equal opportunities to build the life that they have imagined for themselves. She hopes to be able to contribute to the development of laws and policies that will enable people to do just that.
When not studying, Lauren loves to cook, play sports and read classic literature.

Nikita Kherodiya - NSW
Dr. Nikita Kherodiya (MBBS, MPH) is a healthcare professional with a public health and clinical research background and is passionate about understanding complex issues and solutions at the ground level. She joined Results as an Advocate in early 2020 and is excited to be the Group coordinator for NSW and a 2022 Results Fellow. She is passionate about understanding the process to help challenge global inequity and hopes to work towards addressing the intersection of global health and poverty. In her free time, she loves to read books.
Killki Salazar - QLD
Killki is a final year student at the University of Queensland, studying a degree in International Relations and Spanish. She is passionate about international development, reducing inequality and political diplomacy; and she is dedicated to using her voice to help others. Alongside her university studies, she works part time in an education setting and in her spare time she volunteers for Results.
Killki joined Results mid 2021 as an Advocate, and this year she will step into the Queensland Group Coordinator role and will also complete the 2022 Results Fellowship. She looks forward to expanding her Queensland advocacy group to better enhance our collective voices to create meaningful change within the world.

Zachary Finch - SA
Zachary Finch is currently studying Economics majoring in international economic development at the University of Adelaide and is looking forward to a career in international development. He is excited to learn and grow through the Fellowship program, meet some great people and make a difference in the lives of people living in poverty!
Stella Harris - NSW
Stella is an Australian junior doctor with career interests in women’s health and global health. She is currently completing the Master of Public Health, where her focus has been on perinatal and maternal global health advocacy and research. Her goal is to work within the global health sphere, focusing on primary interventions that disrupt the cycle of poverty and poor health outcomes, as well as advocating for the implementation of universal health coverage.
Muslima Halkano - SA
Muslima Halkano was born and raised in a small rural town in Kinna, Kenya. She is the first in her family to graduate secondary school and go to university.
Upon graduating from Bachelor of Nursing at University of South Australia, she became a registered nurse where she learned the importance of health and wellbeing and the value of diverse ways to improve quality of life. This led her to her speciality in preventing and managing chronic illness and affirmed her strong belief that everyone should have access to equal and quality healthcare services.
She now works as a Refugee Health Nurse Advocate working to improve the health and wellbeing of refugees and newly arrived migrants.
When not busy with her young family, she volunteers to provide telehealth services to people from Kinna who are living with chronic disease.

Toritse Mojuetan - WA
Toritse Mojuetan, a Nigerian-Australian-American woman, is from the Itsekiri tribe of Delta state and currently lives on Whadjuk Booja in Western Australia. Her multiethnic background was the impetus of her passion for global health. Currently studying Medicine, Toritse would like to work in creating innovative holistic systems targeted at solving the various health issues and inequalities experienced by the West African Diaspora community in West Africa, Australia, the US, and the UK. She understands that health issues are inextricably connected to history, culture, and economics. As such, she is also passionate about tackling global poverty, increasing female autonomy, and critically challenging structural racism.
