Maree Nutt, Inaugural Ambassador
Maree Nutt was a core member and leader of RESULTS in Australia for over thirty years prior to her resignation in mid 2018. Following a long association as a Volunteer, Group Leader, management team leader then director Maree led RESULTS from 2005 to 2018 as its inaugural CEO.
She took it from being a small and purely volunteer driven organisation which operated out of the back room of her house to attract philanthropic funding, employ staff and professionalise the organization. As a consequence RESULTS Australia has a stronger voice in advocating for investment in key aid programs that affect the health and wellbeing of millions of people around the world and gained respect and recognition in both Federal Parliament and the media.
Maree was also a pivotal leader in the RESULTS international organisation working with colleagues to address the global challenges of extreme poverty by developing and agreeing internationally coordinated strategies that engaged communities worldwide to call for government investment in health, education and economic opportunity programs that profoundly change lives.
The board was therefore delighted to appoint Maree as its inaugural Ambassador and as a Life Member in December 2018.
ON learning of the award, presented at a dinner in Sydney, Maree said, “I remain passionate about RESULTS and its work and am delighted to work with the Board on special projects and activities. I also look forward to returning to my ‘roots’ as a volunteer – a role that started me on this journey with RESULTS almost 30 years ago and one that still drives the passion I have for this work.”
