‘Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world’- Nelson Mandela

The World Bank is the largest source of international funding for education. In 2010 it committed to providing an additional $US 750 million for basic education from 2011 to 2015.

Instead, the World Bank’s education funding dropped from $1.2 billion in 2009 and 2010 to just $403 million in 2011, decreasing instead of increasing.
