New RESULTS Report Released – Education for All: Or Just Those Easier to Reach?

January 30, 2012 – Today RESULTS International (Australia) has released a report ‘Education for All: Or Just Those Easier to Reach?’ which puts a microscope to the actions of three aid organisations – AusAID, The World Bank and the Asian Development Bank regarding international education programs and policy.  Though some progress has been made in improving girls access to education, there is still work to do in this area. The report makes the alarming revelation that children with disabilities are missing out on education and its social and economic benefits at a staggering rate, with as many as 98% of children with a disability not attending school in developing countries.

Global Fund Ten Year Anniversary: A time for Australia to exercise leadership in the fight against HIV

January 27, 2012 – Tomorrow, January 28, marks the ten year anniversary of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Despite the success of the Global Fund in fighting these diseases, saving 100,000 lives each and every month, the Fund is at a critical funding crossroad which puts its work in great jeopardy and threatens to reverse progress in HIV treatment and prevention. The Australian Federation of AIDS organisations and RESULTS International (Australia) have called on the Australian Government to bolster its funding, and bring foward its financial commitment to ensure these crucial advances are not lost.

TB Shack comes to Parliament House

March 13, 2008 – Tuberculosis (TB), often thought of as a disease of the past, kills two million people each year and is the subject of an unique exhibition launched at Parliament House, Canberra. Tuberculosis, the invisible killer of those with AIDS

November 30, 2006 — Whilst RESULTS recognises the devastating impact of AIDS in the developing world, there is little recognition of the fact that tuberculosis is the leading cause of death amongst people living with HIV/AIDs. Treatment for AIDS must also therefore go hand in hand with treatment for TB.
